camel pencil skirt

happy Sunday everyone! hope you all had a wonderful weeek! I did, for the most part. I didn't get to these two big things I really needed to, but all I can do is hope for the time and ability to do them this week! so, here's to positive thinking for the rest of the week..... who's with me??:)
here's today's outfit!

shirt: Kohls (Lauren Conrad)
skirt: Target (Merona)
shoes: Styluxe
my oldest sister Erin tells me pencil skirts are too business-like, and I've come to agree with her over time. I think the black ones are more like that, but the colored ones are fun--especially when you add different colors and some exciting jewelry. my favorite thing to do is grab a pencil skirt and see what kind of shirt I can pair with it. I got this camel colored pencil skirt recently, so today I paired it with one of my favorite color combinations: light blue and camel. loose blouses are paired really well with pencil skirts because the skirt has a tight fit, so the blouse adds some extra fun to it!

(don't mind the filter on this photo, I'm not sunburned! haha)
necklace: Forever 21
earrings: Forever 21
soo it'd a well known fact that I kind of love Forever 21 simply because of their jewelry. honestly, have you ever been in jewelry area? I want it all. no kidding though! the prices can be really good, but some can be quite ridiculous. anyways, I decided to go with gold today because it went with the camel skirt. gold is super nice and goes well with a lot of neutrals, which is why I like it!
hope everyone had a good Sunday! and I hope you all have a wonderful week as well. I hope this week goes smoothly for me--I have a few road blocks coming up but I'm hoping to get over them really fast! haha summer is juust around the corner!! so excited!

love, megs. :)

Easter Sunday dress

happy happy Easter everyone! I hope you have all had an absolutely amazing day so far. remember to ponder on the real and true meaning of this holiday, as it has changed and shaped each and every one of our lives. here's a beautiful video to check it out.. http://easter.mormon.org/?cid=HPTU041514694
so here's my 'Easter Sunday' dress!
(we never do Easter Sunday dresses, but my outfit was fitting. :) haha)

dress: Papaya
shoes: Forever21
jacket: Merona (a Target brand)
I really loved this outfit! it was way fun to coordinate colors. I've made a goal to wear every item in my closet and have it up on the blog. haha, that's pretty ambitious of me to say--but it's worth a try! it's way too common for us girls to keep things in our closets that we never ever wear!! I'm so beyond guilty of this, and it's okay. haha I've had multiple people ask me for help to gut their closets with them because they need to get rid of things but just didn't know how! over the last year I've gone through my closet at least 3 times and thrown out the old items I never wear. it's really good to do this semi-annually, try it!

necklace: turquoise teardrop from Etsy
bracelets: Forever21
Shade: ModBod
so I want to talk about my shade under this dress here for a second. I got it at ModBod for only $15.95 and I wear it under soo many things! it's awesome! this is one of the best and most secure ways to stay modest. I use them under almost all of my shirts now to get ready for my mission and life after that--it's best to get used to it now rather than later! I have 5 shades: brown, cream(in the picture above), white, black, and pink. lots of neutrals, I love neutrals. :)
tights: Forever21
love my tights. :) I have sheer pink ones with pink bows on them(in the picture above), sheer grey ones with hearts on them, and sheer black ones with small polka-dots on them. tights are fun! they add a little excitement to your outfit and always look great!! and they're not pricey:)

P.S. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. don't forget to remember the one who gave our lives purpose:) http://easter.mormon.org/?cid=HPTU041514694

green pencil skirt

soo I took a break for the last two weeks.. haha sorry guys! I was in Utah and had a busy Sunday, and last week it was General Conference. but, I'm back!:)
so here's my outfit from today!
shirt: H&M (thrift store)
skirt: Target
shoes: Kohls (Candie's)
necklace: Target
I love love love patterns and stripes. this is a really great color combination! navy blue with dark green is always fun and exciting. I got this lace skirt from my best friend's sister a few weeks ago and thought it'd be fun to pair it with stripes! I threw in the black shoes to give the outfit a kick, and the necklace to make statement(obviously haha). try experimenting with patterns and stripes in your wardrobe! it's fun:)
so here's a sweet thought from today. a 14yr old girl who I've known for years gave a talk in sacrament meeting at church today. she spoke on keeping her standards strong through dress and appearance. something that was said during her talk totally caught my attention: "it's not what you wear that makes you a child of God, it's what you do and say." I'm not sure if that was a quote from someone else or something she said--but I love it. I feel that people find it so critical that they always have the best things in this life, whether it be cars, clothes, houses, or anything materialistic. but people miss the fact that the Lord loves us no matter what. He sees past our outside image and looks towards what really matter inside of us. it's so great looking at those who surround us and being able to see the good inside of them and truly realize that each of us are children of God. hope you all had a wonderful Sunday!!
