don't you just love those moments you walk into Target telling yourself: "OKAY. I'm here for a reason: just the items on my list. and that's IT." but the clothing section is RIGHT THERE, and you can't help but just walk through, thinking you won't get anything.. I think most of us can testify that does not happen very often. this dress is a result of me saying I'm not getting anything while at Target earlier this week. maybe I jinxed it..oh well. haha

this dress is kind of a lot to handle.. haha multiple patterns in one piece of clothing has never really been a thing of mine, or something I've wanted to have! haha but I saw this dress, I've been looking for a maxi dress like this for awhile, and I liked it so I got it! and hey, life is short..buy the dress, right??;) hahaha. well, only if you can afford it. if not, and you really want it, try to work for it--it's worrrth iiit!
this dress isn't quite completely modest by itself though; you can't tell in the pictures, but the back of the dress is pretty low and the front kind of was too. so I wore a nice white undershirt, that covered everything perfectly, to make it modest. I love how simple making things modest can be! I emphasize the word "can" because it is hard to modify our clothes to make them modest a lot of the time--but it's very worth it!
today I hope you all remember that doing your own thing when styling and putting together your own outfits is a really great thing. as you come to find what you like and don't like in clothes, you're growing your personality and your own sense of style. so make sure to be confident in your own style and with your true self!
love, megs. :)
Cute dress! And if you get tired of it you can simply cut the top off and add a little elastic to the waste for a simple skirt. I spilt bleach on the top of one of my most favorite ombré maxi. That was my solution.
ReplyDeleteoh that's such a good idea Sister Powers! thanks!!:)
